After a long time I am back with second innings to write my most favourite and sensational topic in today's IT world - "The Cloud Computing" . The word "Cloud Computing" has been still a buzz word in the IT Industry due to its versatile structure and characteristics where anything as a Service can be offered is the mantra. Yes, apart from its existing three kinds of service models, IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service), PAAS (Platform as a Service) and SAAS (Software as a Service) , I am able to see many of them are discussing other service models like Network as a service, Analytics as a Service and may be there are more.
Perhaps what does The Cloud has extraordinary to give to the Public in common is the Storage as a Service. The free space given by the service provider to the end users like us. There are lot of service providers where we use them in our day to day's life for eg., Google's Drive, Microsoft's Skydrive or Dropbox Storage. In general everything provides us a online free file storage space and the amount of space varies among them. While everyone was utilizing this space earlier everyone had the fear of loss of data or data security and its ownership and there was a hue and cry when there was a outage of Gmail wayback in 2012 which was later resumed. Though it was resumed there was a fear of loss of data in the email.
Due to the fear of loss of data, Dropbox gave a secured solution wherein we were able to view and manage our files in local computer as well as in online through the web browser. Now this facility is provided by the giants Google, Micrsoft and Amazon. Recently, The USPTO had issued Patent to the search engine giant Google for its "Cloud based file storage" on the very last day of 2013 which was filed in 2010. The description of the Patents can be read here. When Google has been granted Patent for the Cloud based file storage, it has something special from that of other providers. As far as I understood, it is seen that the Patent consists of online storage with tight security and not able to crack how it is different from the that of other online storage.
